Hey Com Kids-
I'm working on a McLuhan workshop for class and we want to address not only his theories and methodologies, but also the impact of celebrity on scholarship.
Any suggestions on good examples of MM-as-celebrity? Right now we're thinking of the cameo in Annie Hall, the Playboy interview, and the character he inspired in Videodrome.
All sugestions - and weblinks! - much appreciated...

I think much of the rest of his celebrity came from various interviews and from the books themselves -- most particularly "The Medium is the Massage" which juxtaposed his thought with photography - making it very accessible and a real pop-culture phenomenon.
